This majestic 96.2 km journey over three days takes you from the Valbonne plateau to the heart of the Dracénie region, featuring a total positive elevation gain of 1485m and 1555m descent. Over approximately 24 to 26 hours of hiking, you will cross the Loup Gorges, wander through the forests of Grasse, and traverse the famous vineyards of the Var hinterland. The path honors Provence's religious history, passing the ancient Valbonne Abbey and numerous dry-stone oratories before reaching the sacred Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin in Lorgues. Between hills of scrubland and centuries-old olive groves, this section offers a solitude perfect for introspection and spiritual contemplation.
The effort is sustained with 1485m of elevation gain, requiring excellent endurance over three consecutive days. The main difficulty lies in the steep climbs on rocky terrain towards the Esterel massif and isolated forest areas where supplies are scarce. Exposure to the sun is high on the limestone plateaus, which can make walking strenuous during the summer months.
Remember to get your credential stamped at the Valbonne tourist office and at the Collegiate Church in Lorgues upon arrival.
