This 67.8 km journey, requiring approximately 18 hours of walking over three days, offers a spectacular transition from the Principality of Monaco to the Grasse hinterland in Mouans-Sartoux. With a total ascent of 2227m and a descent of 2761m, pilgrims rise above the Riviera balconies, passing through historic sites like La Turbie and its Trophy of Augustus before descending towards the Azurean valleys. The trail weaves through fragrant scrubland and pine forests, connecting medieval gems such as Èze or the heights of Nice, providing a profound spiritual experience overlooking the vast Mediterranean. The effort is significant with a cumulative ascent of 2227m, particularly during the initial climb to La Turbie and the crossing of ridges overlooking Nice. The 2761m descent can be taxing on the knees, especially on the stony and technical trails of the backcountry. Sun exposure is high on the coastal balconies, and supply points can be scarce once deep in the hills.
