This 73.4 km Mediterranean odyssey connects the Azure Coast to the fragrant hills of the Grasse region over three days of sustained effort. Between sea and mountains, you will conquer 2,333m of positive elevation gain and 2,722m of loss, passing through iconic sites such as the perched village of Èze, the heights of the Maritime Alps, and the medieval city of Grasse. The path follows ancient Roman roads dotted with oratories and centuries-old chapels, offering a spiritual journey between the deep blue of the sea and the green of ancient olive groves. Each step towards Pégomas immerses the pilgrim in authentic Provence, far from the coastal bustle, for approximately 22 hours of walking time.
With over 2,300m of cumulative elevation gain over three days, this section is demanding and requires excellent physical condition. The technical descents towards Pégomas put heavy strain on the joints, and sun exposure on the ridges can be grueling during summer.
Remember to get your credential stamped at the Notre-Dame-du-Puy Cathedral in Grasse, an essential stop. Plan for a significant water supply between La Turbie and the Grasse area, as replenishment points are rare on the limestone ridges.
